01Features

One life, a whole system

Start with a mop and a wrench on a station nobody else wants. End up with your own ship, your own base and a star system to work in.

An expansive universe

The Kessler Reach is a full star system: four planets, a gas giant, three moons, asteroid rings and a black hole at its heart whose glowing disk is the only sun. Fly from orbit straight down to the surface.

Ships you live in

Every ship has an interior. Get up from the pilot's seat, walk back through the cabin, drop the ramp and step out onto the landing pad.

Build anything

Put together stations and ships from hull plates, wedges, curves and roof pieces. What you build is real: walk around in it, and fly the ships you make.

Stay alive

Oxygen, power, food and water all run out if you let them. Machines wear down and fail; diagnose them, find the part, fit it. In Survival, every block you build costs materials.

Mine, trade, haul

Pull ore out of the asteroid rings, smelt it into bars and fabricate what you need. Take hauling runs, mining quotas and supply drops from the boards at Kestrel, Tallow and Meridian.

A story to start you off

It begins on Pod Alpha, with a contract, a station that keeps breaking and HERMES, a handler with a lot to say. Then something happens to the Earth below.

02The Kessler Reach

Somewhere to go

A star system with a black hole for a sun. Four planets, a gas giant, three moons, three asteroid rings, and stations, outposts and wrecks to find. Pick anything on the map.

Distances are squeezed so the whole system fits on screen. Everything else comes straight from the game.

03Where it starts

Pod Alpha

You grew up in the Stacks. Your sister needs treatment you can't afford, so you sign a contract with Halcyon Ascent and take a job on Pod Alpha, a small orbital station that's older than it should be.

The crew has gone. What's left is you, a station that keeps breaking, and HERMES: the station's handler, who has opinions about all of it.

Fix the air, the power and the water. Clean, repair, run the refinery, take your pay. Then something happens to the Earth below, and the job is no longer the point.

07FAQ

Questions

What state is the game in?

Early alpha. The Pod Alpha story and the Kessler Reach are playable, and the game updates itself as new versions come out. Expect rough edges.

What platforms is it on?

Windows PC (64-bit).

How do I install it?

Download the game, put it in a folder of its own and run it. There's no installer. The first time it starts it fetches the latest update, and after that it keeps itself up to date. Windows may say it's from an unknown publisher: choose More info, then Run anyway.

Is it multiplayer?

Not yet. It's single-player today; co-op is on the roadmap.

When is it coming out, and how much will it cost?

TBC.

What are the system requirements?

TBC.
